Govindhan Gurukkal

Govindhan Gurukkal was born on 27 February 1943. He started learning Kalari from 1960 from E.C. Mukundan Gurukkal and from K. K. Chandrashekaran Gurukkal.

After more than twelve years of rigorous study he began teaching in the year 1972. He served as the Vice president of Kannur district Kalaripayattu association for 18 years and also served as the President for 4 years.

He is know to impart his knowledge very quickly to the deserving. He has produced numerous champions from kannur.
